Lately on Facebook I've been friended by a raft of people I've never met but whose apparent connections to others I know seem solid enough ... so I confirmed them. But I'm still left wondering why they would want to be connected to me whom they do not know nor probably ever will. Is it just plain cool to be my "friend"?
Just uploaded the new face of brtom.org. But I can't get the rollover & click color changes to work for the links. Anybody know anything about this? I also only recently recognized that the rollovers on the old page also had stopped working. Is this an issue with the browser?
Technical details of permanent failure:

I tried to send my self at school a copy of James Schuyler's "Hymn to Life" ... but one word buried deep deep down around maybe line 137 and used with the utmost propriety kept it out. And I feel my world's a safer place already. But there's nothing more to say. All the words been taken away.
This article by David Warlick convinced me to check out Diigo. I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet, but if it really does move us inthe direction of the thought expressed in this quotation, I'm probably going to be down with it.
You may have noticed that I've added one of these:
to the front page of my website. The internet needs more of my voice pollution, and I'm happy to provide it. For now, the casts consist of poems from Plainer ... but maybe soon there will be actual other vocalizations ... just me talking to ... students, family, friends, or even you.
As indicated in the description of the first cast, I'm indebted to the archetype of audio poems that one may find at Growing Nation ... thanks, Jordan! (Gcast won out over Gabcast because it allows for file upload and well as phone-recorded posts)
you can tell brtom.org is back in action because this blog is loading pictures again ... here's a recent one ...
i'm guessing most of my readers have plenty of their own snowpix ... so i'll just post one ... winter came way too quickly this year
i don't have the energy or will to tell the tale of all that has gone wrong with the website over the past week ... but the one right thing has been (even in the midst of their one big screwup) the helpfulness and good will of the tech support people at OLM ... a very merry whatever to all of them ...
here in the blog age one wonders if the having of an actual personal website is of any value at all ... way back in the beginning i called the site The Wonder Closet because i knew even then that it would become a dumping ground for a wide range of personal interests and oddities ... and so it remains ... i've got stuff in there that i can hardly remember it's there ... and barrels of broken links ... (dropped the "closet" title when some folks started offering variant readings of it that were ... well ... beside the point)
